District Leadership Troop

Dear Fellow Scouters:

Our Tres Ranchos District has a wonderful legacy of delivering an outstanding program for the many scouts we have served over the decades. The District leadership, made up of volunteers along with our District Executive, exists to support the program offered by our units through providing ongoing training and resources, volunteer recognition, Eagle Scout boards of review, and many wonderful and fun events such as Scouting for Food, Cub Scout Day Camp, BSA Camporee, and the District Pinewood Derby.

Our District now has the opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering even better scouting activities and being even more responsive to the needs of our units. Tres Ranchos has been tasked with piloting a new model of district leadership. Instead of the District Operating Committee model, we will implement a District Leadership Troop, made up of patrols of adult volunteers. These patrol teams will assist with district tasks as best suits the patrol’s interests, skills, and background. The patrols will be made up of veteran district scouters as well as representatives of our various units. This model will provide each unit with direct input into district activities and serve as a means of communication back to the units.

Our inaugural District Troop Meeting will be April 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom (link below). We are asking each unit to please have one Adult leader/parent attend to join our District Troop. We strongly urge that this NOT be a member of the unit’s Key 3 leadership. Attendees can RSVP on the following form: https://forms.gle/v7hJEmKJKvBeTBAH7

I’m looking forward to working together to make Tres Ranchos even stronger for the benefit of all our scouts! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Yours in Scouting,
